Social Commitment: Pramac GmbH supports the Association for Children with Cancer in Tübingen
Pramac GmbH is continuing its social commitment by supporting the Association for Children with Cancer in Tübingen (Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder Tübingen e. V.) with a donation of 2,000 euros as part of an internal company initiative.
Under the guiding principle of “Courage. Help. Hope.”, the association supports families whose children are being treated for cancer at the University Hospital Tübingen. One of the association’s most important tasks is to offer relatives a temporary home in the immediate vicinity of the children’s hospital during the often lengthy therapy. For this purpose, a total of 18 rooms are currently available across two houses.
The families’ length of stay ranges from a few nights to several months. Especially for parents and siblings, this accommodation provides a great deal of relief, as they can stay close to the sick child during this difficult time.
In addition, the association finances numerous psychosocial, educational, and therapeutic programs. These include art, music, and writing therapy, as well as childcare services and projects for bereaved families. Former cancer patients are also involved as mentors, giving sick children new hope and courage through their personal experiences.
Another focus is on supporting medical research projects. Through a close and trusting exchange with the children’s hospital, targeted initiatives can be funded that enable new treatment options and contribute to the long-term cure of seriously ill children.
“When a child falls seriously ill, they need more than medical care. They need closeness, optimism, and people who support the family. This is exactly what the association achieves in an impressive way, and that is why we are very happy to support this work,” says Holger Sigloch, CFO/COO at Pramac GmbH.
Since the association does not receive any state subsidies, the family houses, support services, and research projects are financed through donations from private individuals, associations, and companies. With its donation, Pramac GmbH wants to help relieve the burden on families, enable closeness, and provide new optimism.
