SSC uses AI‑driven forecasting and optimization algorithms to intelligently manage energy flows, leveraging market dynamics and predictive analytics to deliver operational efficiency and minimize residual electricity costs.
Why Smart Self-Consumption Matters
With increasing spot price volatility driven by renewable energy expansion and the reduction of fossil must‑run capacities, electricity prices fluctuate dramatically, from negative values to pronounced peaks. SSC enables businesses to capitalize on these fluctuations by reducing residual grid purchase costs through targeted charging of the BESS during low‑price periods.
How It Works
SSC combines spot‑market price data, PV and load forecasts, and weather‑based algorithms powered by AI‑supported prediction models to optimize Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) charging schedules. The system constantly calculates minimum and maximum State of Charge (SoC) thresholds for the next 48 hours and dynamically adjusts charging to ensure cost‑effective operation.
Setup and Operation
Through Pramac’s EMS Cloud interface, users can:
- Select the proper tariff zone for their site location.
- Configure PV plant parameters for precise PV forecasting.
- Schedule SSC operation via an intuitive task planner.
The dashboard provides real-time predictions and detailed reports, including optimized charging schedules.
Future Enhancements
From Q2 2026, SSC will include delayed charging during PV peaks to further avoid reduced PV feed-in revenues caused by negative feed‑in prices. Additional enhancements will strengthen the use of AI‑based forecasting platforms.
